Hi all, ive been running my house CCTV for years into my QNAPs and Synology NAS, but im gonna separate this now and go back to an NVR. i currently run a couple of Hikvision 180 Cameras DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL

Which NVR would you recommend, i currently run them into a POE+ capable switch, but more than happy to pipe them back into an NVR if this is the way, but the models kinda got me stumped. Id just like easier ways to find events and have more of the Accusense tech etc. Any tips and advice would be great.

I keep looking sat this if this would do it.

Many thanks

The AcuSense is in your cameras so you're best leaving them do the processing rather than employing the AcuSense in the NVR (it's more limited). Regardless of whether the NVR has PoE ports or not, you can still leave your cameras connected via your PoE switch on the LAN. My NVR has PoE ports and I've a mix of cameras connected directly to the PoE ports, and some that are connected via a PoE switch. I wouldn't necessarily go to the trouble of rewiring your cameras; you could just drop the Hikvision NVR onto your network and add the existing cameras. The K model NVRs are fine with one or two 8 megapixel cameras but if you're planning on more, you might want to consider one of the higher specified models. You can put an NVR in that has a higher number of channels than you need in order to increase the incoming bandwidth (the 8 channel has 80Mbps and the 16 has 160Mbps). But if you're wanting to playback recorded footage from multiple cameras simultaneously, you need to look at the decoding performance in the data sheets (that will tell you what you can play back simultaneously on the screen)

Many thanks for this I’ll narrow my search down. I did think about the 160mb version as I also noticed the reduced 4k endpoints on the
Lower models. JB is this the correct one ? Or would you recommend another 16 port model

Hikvision DS-7616NXI-K2 4K 16 CH 12MP NVR No Poe AcuSense Network Video Recorder. I presume there are no 3rd party I should also consider ?

Thanks

The NXI-K2 should be fine. Next up would be the NXI-I2 or the NI-M2. The M2 has the best performance with higher incoming bandwidth and decoding capability than the other models, however it does not have AcuSearch which the NXI models have.

Ordered the 16 device none Poe K2 I’ll bob in 2 3TB drives and then I should be good to go

Thanks for the help
