MacOS Is Hikvision compatible with Mac?

I have a Hikvision Outdoor IP DS 2CD2342WD-1 physically set up. However after almost 3 weeks, 40 + hours and two network engineers later I still can't see it online or through the IVMS- 4200 software. If I understand it correctly it appears now that I may get to see the camera if I use some element of Internet Explorer (last century stuff). So, the Hikvision designed software for Mac does not work on a Mac with Safari or Firefox!!! I am missing something here right?

yes it does work, you need to download the mac plugin from hikvision website, you'll need to create an acount, install the plugin and use safari to login in, if you want to watch it remotely you'll need to configure the router as you would if it was a dvr.
