I installed my present system around 6 yrs ago. I have 6 cameras and a PTZ on my home. The usual sort of average size 4 bed detached on a residential estate with front and rear gardens, double driveway and separate double garage.
My current arrangement is based mini RG59 with twin power wires. DVR with 3TB HD and a selection of motorised and fixed lens turret cameras as well as the PTZ. My cameras all have the Sony Starlight chipset in them so I am used to colour nighttime images.
I’m fancying an update and trying to understand what would be best. I was going to go IP POE with CAT5/6 but I’ve also noticed the POC systems. I really don’t mind pulling new cables and going POE but I’m interested in knowing what benefits one system may have over the other if I’m looking for good resolution and something I’m actually going to be able to get decent images on.
Any advice around this and products would be appreciated. I’m not particularly concerned as to whether I retain a PTZ
