Looking for ANPR and PTZ Options

Hi everyone

Thought I'd ask here as I've ended up a bit confused by the broad offfering of Hikvision cameras.

I'm trying to work out which PTZ cameras from Hikvision are capable of returning an ANPR result and also using Smart Tracking to follow the vehicle before returning to the wide home preset.

Assuming that this combination is possible, of course.

The follow up question would be whether a particular NVR is required to support the feature.

As far as we are aware, there are no Hikvision PTZs that support ANPR.

We are not actually aware of any ANPR PTZs because the moving/zooming of a PTZ will make reading plates very difficult, to get the best ANPR results the camera needs to be in a fixed position and zoomed in so that the plate fills as much of the screen as possible.

Many of the Hikvision PTZ models will support Smart Tracking, but when it comes to tracking vehicles we have seen problems in the past where PTZs will start tracking a vehicle, then the vehicle will slow down or pause, and before the car starts moving again the tracking will stop and the PTZ will return to its home position.
