My DS-2CD2387G2 camera is odd after firmware update to V5.7.18?

So I updated my camera firmware, but the UI is now acting really odd. I can login fine but the UI isn't working after that most things can't be clicked and it doesn't show the feed. Screenshot below.

The good news is that the stream still is behaving as normal so my NVR/Recordings aren't affected.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here ?

Thanks.

Camera is a DS-2CD2387G2-LU-2.8MM-BK and the firmware version was Firmware__V5.7.18_240826_S3000597013

Hi @normal-dot

Have you cleared your browser's cookies/cache for the Hikvision camera? Sometimes, the browser can hold onto old cookies/data from the previous firmware version, which can cause these GUI glitches.

If you are unsure how to clear your cookies/cache, just let us know which browser you are using and we will find the instructions for you.

Hi Dan, that's a really good suggestion! I was convinced you were right and was annoyed I didn't think of it.
But I've just tried it and exactly the same, no difference at all :(

Have you cycled the power to your camera since the firmware update?

Hi Phil, another great suggestion which I should have already thought of ! I've just done it and it's made no difference :(

I just updated one of our Hybrid Light cameras to the same firmware and started seeing similar issues in the UI, but managed to get it working by doing the below:
  1. Uninstall LocalServiceComponents and WebComponents from your PC's installed apps, and delete all files with the same name from your downloads folder.
  2. Reset the camera to it's factory defaults: Maintenance and Security>Maintenance>Backup and Restore>Default.
  3. Reactivate the camera if need be and log in.
  4. Download LocalServiceComponents again by clicking on the jigsaw piece in the top-right corner - install it (double-click on the downloaded file).
  5. Download and install this plugin.
  6. Log out and back in to the camera.
Let us know if that resolves it...

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for getting back to me. That's reassuring to know you've solved it, I was getting a little worried I had bricked the camera.

I think I need to do some research on the software you mentioned as all I have is SADP installed.

TBH, I don't know any more about it than what is described on the Hikvision download page...
WebPlugins is a non-IE web plugin that allows users without admin rights to use features like live view and playback for supported devices. It is upgraded from but not compatible with LocalServiceComponents.

It looks like it's an upgrade / replacement to LocalServiceComponents, to fix problems in the UI that created (i.e. not admin) user accounts were seeing.
Or, to fix issues that needed you to run the browser as an administrator.
I think it's fixed issues some were seeing in iVMS-4200 too...
I installed both and everything works fine :)

Hi Kyle, I think we might have different issues looking at the all I can see on the Maintenance and Security page.

Hi

Can you try this new application from Hikvision, import your devices and try to configure from there?
This is not supporting older devices though but it is OK with newer G5s and NVRs.
This gives almost the same gui with Edge on settings

Yep, it looks like lots of settings aren't loading properly - which browser are you using? Is that up to date? On Windows or macOS?

Using HiTools Delivery like @alfaclvi mentions should allow you to reset the camera to factory defaults and then try again in a browser (once the plugins are reinstalled).

There is also an option, similar to Hik-Partner Pro, called Toolkit-Upgrade Package, used for searching by S/N and downloading the right firmware upgrade package specificaly for your device. No mistakes with this option.
This is not always giving the latest firmware, same happens with Hik-Pro, but it is the right one..
