New installer.. YAY or NAY?

Hi,

Think I'm posting this in the right place, I've always fancied a dabble in being a installer but how do people compete ?

Currently the supplier I use give trade a 5% discount but that being said it would cost £217 for 4 2mp hi-look cameras and a nvr without cable, on Facebook locally there's a few fitters doing the set up at £280 installed.. my question is how ? How do people compete with this ?

Personally I want to stick to 4g remote stuff as a niche but maybe asked for home installs etc.

I think it's very hard to compete based upon the parts cost alone.
You'll need to get yourself established, and build a reputation as a provider who offers a good service.
Provides a free survey and quotation.
Gives good advice.
Selects good components.
Installs them well.
Sets it all up well to meet the customer's expectations well.
Provides aftercare when necessary.
