Novus NV-N1B08HS-8P NVR - unknown password?

Hi,

Got hold of an old Novus NVR model number NV-N1B08HS-8P for which the admin password is unknown. The original owners had it setup by an IT company a long time ago, whom they've contacted but have got no reply. They think they may no longer be in business.

I have tried "123456" but now only got 3 attempts left.

Any ideas what the default should be?

Assuming it may have been changed, does anyone know how I can reset it?

Hi @bacus

It sounds like the NVR has a password set (probably by the previous owner) and you will probably need to investigate hard resetting the NVR.

We've never heard of/handled Novus products so can't really guide you on how to perform a reset, we would try speaking to Novus Technical Support to see if they help you.

It's not one I've heard of either. It looks very much like a Dahua NVR1B08HS-8P (note the similar model name).
I'll see what Novus Support have to say.

Well, according to Novus Support after I sent them a photo of the front of the unit and the underside with the Novus sticker on it, "This is not a device from our company".

Hmmm!
Possibly some clone device if thinking.
