Hi

I have installed an hikvision NVR model DS-7616NI-K2/16P and plan to install 2 x PTZ cameras (DS-2DE4225IW-DE) to this NVR. I noticed that the DS-2DE4225IW-DE cameras require to be powered via POE+ and according to the NVR Specs, this is a POE NVR.

So the question is ... can i connect the DS-2DE4225IW-DE PTZ cameras to the DS-7616NI-K2/16P NVR?

The DS-2DE4225IW-DE requires PoE+ IEEE 802.3 at Class4 - The DS-7616NI-K2/16P supports IEEE 802.3 af/at so yes is the answer.

Be aware of the power budget of the NVR, the 7616-K2 model has a 200W budget and so you have to be aware if you have all or almost all the PoE ports being used that you have enough budget left to support the 2 PTZs, standard PoE cameras usually uses a max. of 15.4W but more often they use around 8-12W and the 4225IW PTZ camera you want uses a max. of 18W

You can check the PoE power usage of your cameras if you have a directly connected monitor as there is a menu you that shows you the live power usage of the cameras connected, but unfortunately this menu is not available via browser access. To be safe and to make sure you don't exceed that power budget of the NVR we usually recommend connecting PTZs remotely to a switch and power with a separate PoE+ injector - Trendnet TPE-115GI Gigabit Power over Ethernet Plus Injector
