Hik-Connect Repeated notification of video loss?

Hik-Connect app notifies about video loss every minute, so you get 1440 events per camera per day. And you will have to select (click) each of those 1440 events manually if you want to delete them, there is no filter or any other way to select them all at once. That is very annoying and time consuming. Meanwhile, iVMS reports when video loss event starts and when it ends only. I do not see any way to change this behaviour in Hik-Connect, so it looks like a bug to me.

First you need to fix the Video Loss issue. You can turn off video loss alerts in the NVR alarm settings and you should certainly do that until you’ve fixed the underlying problem.

You can easily mark all notifications as read or delete them at once. In the notifications screen click the 3 dot menu in the top right and ‘Mark all as read’ or edit, select all, delete.

Yes, I know that I can turn off video loss alerts in the NVR, but that is not the point I am trying to make here. Pushing 1440 events per day is not normal and I believe not desired in most cases.

About the 3 dot menu. Apparently, there is an option to delete all events. When you click on Edit button multiselection activates and Clear All button becomes available. I would never guess that it deletes all events instead of unchecking already selected events, not counterintuitive. However, it will delete every event from every camera, not just Video Loss events as there is no way to filter them (at least from what I see). And even if it was possible, why do they generate 1440 events in the first place?

An event push is restricted to once per minute for a specific event type on a specific channel. If the event reoccurs after one minute it sends another. Perhaps (I’m only guessing here) with Video Loss if the condition is still present after that minute expires it’s resending it.

There is a filter icon where you can select that icon, then the date, camera, event type. Once filtered you can select them all and delete them.

As said, of more concern would be what is causing a video loss event if the video signal is apparently stable.
