accessing configuration interface on Mac

im trying to access our new HIlook NVR via its I/p address as the monitor is in reception and we haven't hooked up another monitor to share the feed from the HDMI output. . I get to the configuration page but can't get any playback or live view..Im using a Mac book. Is this normal ?

Yes it's normal. MacOS is poorly supported. Hikvision don't seem to be particularly interested in resolving that.
