AcuSense K vs I(E) series NVR?

Currently have AcuSense 7616NXI-K2 NVR at home. Since it didn't get the latest V5 firmware, so likely going to become a legacy NVR soon. Thinking of upgrading to 7616NXI-I2(E) but not completely sure about all the benefits other than V5 firmware and extra decoding capability - although hikvision website doesn't exact state decoding limits for I2(E). Then there is also DeepInMind series, is it really worth the price for home use? Any other models that are better for home use?

It's difficult to know which models will eventually get the V5 firmware and which will be retired. I was surprised that an old NI-K2/P model (K51) that I bought back in 2015/2016 for my house (and later moved on to a family members house) was updated all the way to 2024 and has some features such as Hik-Connect Human/Vehicle filtering available that other models don't.

My opinion is that additional incoming bandwidth is more important than decoding capability. In my use case I rarely play back multiple cameras simultaneously as you can only use the human/vehicle filter to skip unrelated video with a single camera being viewed. I find it easier to view one camera and select, deselect others while playing back (on the local monitor). That said, if the NVR has additional resources it may seem snappier in operation.

Regarding which model is best it would depend on the number of cameras and their resolution, along with whether all of your cameras have AcuSense. The M model is best for incoming bandwidth and will happily run all of my 8 MP cameras (9) at full frame rate. In the UK only the DS-7616NI-M2/16P model is available whereas other markets have the NXI variant if AcuSense is needed on the NVR for older cameras.

I have looked at DeepInMind myself (iDS-7716NXI-M4) but I really can't justify the cost and really don't need most of the features; it's just I'd like the AcuPick/AcuSearch feature that apparently won't be available on the NI models.

Personally I think that the V5 firmware isn't all that. It's not without bugs and is nowhere near as user friendly as V4. Firmware updates seem to be very slow. It's about 3 weeks since I reported (and Hikvision later confirmed) that the latest M series firmware had issues that broke functionality. That firmware is still the available version at all download sites.

AcuPick/AcuSearch feature
That's the feature I'm interested in, although its not strictly needed. Its also included in 7616NXI-I2/S(E) right? It'll be a nice to have feature + knowing V5 devices will get longer support than my current NXI-K2 - which still gets V4 firmware updates. Tbh, I don't really need the AcuSense feature either, I'm using the Facial Recognition mode to track people entering the premises.

Both 7616NXI models have same incoming bandwidth: 160Mbps

Yes that's right; I was just stating that I think it's a more important feature over the decoding. Most 8 channel models have 80Mbps and the 16 channel models have 160Mbps. However the M series 16 channel has 256Mbps incoming bandwidth.

I installed the DS-7616NI-M2/16P to replace my EOL DS-7616-NI-I2/16P and the difference was instantly noticeable.

I have the same cameras as @JB1970 ... the DS-7616NI-I2/16P was just barely able to cope... with the DS-7616NI-M2/16P, everything is smooth with room to spare.
