Hello,
Please excuse my ignorance, as a relative newbie I’m getting a bit bamboozled by 3 letter acronyms and technical jargon.
Next door to me in the village hall attic, a pair of owls successfully fledged a couple of owlets. This year I’ve been asked if it is possible to set up a 24/7 stream for villagers to be able to see them.
I have a total budget of around £300+/- a little bit, excellent WiFi as the hall hosts the local satellite internet provider and access to power.
Being in the attic, it will be gloomy at best so will definitely require good IR for up to 10m and no white light illumination (unless I can deactivate) . A built in microphone would be good but I don’t need intercom or siren functions.
In a perfect world I’d like to be able to remotely tilt/pan and zoom but understand this may be above my budget.
Given the whole attic will effectively become a nest site, once the owls are in residence, I will not be able to access the camera.
The village hall will remain active so ideally a camera that can encode and stream itself without additional hardware purchases eating into the budget or being in the way (or prone to fiddling fingers).
In my head this would be essentially a 24/7 public live stream and if I get very adventurous, I might create a simple webpage for it.
My technical skills are ok and I happily have functioning my own set of home based indoor cameras for spying on my dogs etc. the simpler the set up, the less to go wrong but with good instructions I should be able to manage something a bit more complex.
Thanks in advance, all opinions would be most appreciated.
