MacOS Download footage from ivms-4200 and play it on VLC?

we are using vsplayer on PC and have managed to see it but the video is covered in VCA boxes which makes the video unusable. but cant seem to convert it just says invalid path

We have started the process of converting turns out you need to run as admin on a PC.

When converting does the VCA like line cross lines and the green boxes go away?

yes vca won't show - you can turn those off on vsplayer by right clicking on the playing video, in the menu options select Image Control > VCA Overlay Info, and then select Close All

the conversion finished and looks like it plays well on windows media player okay so vlc should be fine.
