DS-7208HQHI-F1 / N Upgrade options?

Hi,

I recently moved into a house with an existing Hikvision, details below. I have managed to reset the Admin password and the DVR/Cameras are working. However, I have realised I cannot access the cameras except from the old iVMS 4200 software and not the newer Hik Connect app. I managed to confirm this with an old Mac book I had that allowed the software to be installed. So whilst it works I don't think it is much use to me without the app.

I have been through the websites/forums and I am struggling to see what the upgrade path is. I can see the cables are BNC so ideally I want an in support DVR that will use the current BNC cabling. I don't mind having to swap the cameras but equally happy if they just work.

My current model DS-7208HQHI-F1 / N with 6 working cameras.

Any thoughts or experience on upgrading this as I really don't want to have to run all new cables.

Just to add I didn't finally get it working with the Hik-Connect app. But would still like to upgrade it.

Hi @BSP

Our knowledge is mainly focused on Network IP recorders (NVRs) and we have minimal experience with analog recorders (DVRs).

We would recommend taking a look at the models in the Hikvision TurboHD DVR range, you can then search around for anyone selling these models and speak to them for their recommendations for what models would be most suitable for your requirements.
