DS-7608NI-E2-8P-A - Camera Replacement?

Hi,

Hope you are all well reading this.

I have a DS-7608NI-E2-8P-A NVR and a camera has failed. Can I simply unplug this camera and put a new one (Hikvision Turret 4mp 2.8mm DS-2CD2343G2-IU(2.8mm))?

I wasn't sure if the cameras are locked to the port for whatever reason.

Hi @grubee

Yes, it should be pretty simple to swap the old camera for a new one.

After unplugging the old camera the below steps are what we would recommend:

1) Go into the camera management menu in the NVR
2) Click edit/modify for the channel the old camera was using
3) Switch that channel from Plug & Play to Manual and click save/ok
4) Go back into the same edit/modify window, switch the channel back to Plug & Play, and click save/ok

Doing this should default the channel/port to an unused state ready for a new camera to be plugged in.
