Hik-Connect Hik-connect daytime playback not working on my iPhone?

I've seen this mentioned a few times, with no available solutions.

I have 5x DS-2CD2387G2-LU 8 MP ColorVu cameras and NVR DS-7608NI-I2/8P. Since upgrading the firmware to the latest version, hik-connect playback on the iphone rarely works for daytime footage. Nightime playback is fine.

Over a period of weeks, I have tried all the different settings, which had negligible impact. Currently settled on 265+ and 4098 max bitrate. I have no problem with smart events and 265+.

When I recently purchased the 5th camera, I didn't upgrade the firmware and it still has the original factory firmware V5.7.3 build 220112. This camera works perfectly and plays back daytime footage. So I think this problem of no daytime playback is either firmware related or an obscure setting specific to the newer firmware.

For those still reading, the new firmware I am using on the NVR and 4x cameras is V4.60.005_220927 and V5.7.10_220830 respectively.

Would love feedback from anyone else.

Hi @flyby

The first thing to do is update the NVR firmware, as I know some of the earlier V4.60.X versions had a few Hik-Connect bugs.
It's available at the bottom of this page:

The cameras are all up to date :)

Also, what version of Hik-Connect are you using, and is this on Android or iOS?

I'm downgrading my cameras from V5.7.10_220830 back to V5.7.3 build 220112. (I am a bit worried about going to 5.7.11 with no downgrade possible)
I have one of my systems DS-7616NI-I2 / 16P (V4.61.025 build 220905) and my 3 8MPs cameras and 4x4MPs were upgraded to V5.7.10_220830 and observed few issues
DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL
DS-2CD2T86G2-4I

- No daytime playback in Hik-connect for NVRs added via Hik-Connect domain (unless I am connecting to NVR via local IP using Hik-connect app where it works)
- I can playback daytime recordings that were recorded when camera was on V5.7.3
-
this issue doesn't affect my 4MP cameras upgraded to the same version, only affects 8MPs cameras. No change to Hik-connect app. (V4.26.1.0930) - I have Android phone.

I also lost 2-way communication from Hik-connect app. (downgrade fixed it)
And Smart Line-Crossing events were no longer working for me either in 5.7.10

Hi, I'm an Australian user. The supplier told me I can use Aussie or International version firmware, so I'm using firmware from the Hikvision Australia website, and I have the latest currently on their website.

Would the UK version work? I haven't been able to locate the 'international' firmware site.

I'm using iphone hik-connect 4.27.1.20221018

Hi, interesting you appear to have the same problem. I don't have any issues with smart events though, just daytime playback on camera firmware v5.7.1

Let me know how you go rolling the camera firmware backwards.

I rolled back to V5.7.3 build 220112 and that didn't help (but i didn't reset camera settings to default, so I may need to do later today/ tomorrow to see if that works). I think after about 6 timeouts, it says "no more connections allowed" and I have to restart NVR.
I found this article wih the same error code 260015
: https://securitycamcenter.com/hik-connect-video-playing-failed-error-code-260015/

I did play with the max bitrate for cameras and set to 16384Kbps , so it may be that Hik-Connect servers struggle. All is OK when I play recordings via direct IP connection (VPN).

Hi, this has fixed my problem. After months and months of playback not working, I can confirm, updating to NVR firmware V4.61.010 Build 220527 (from US website) has fixed it.
