I’m looking for advice on CCTV and AI integration, and apologies if this isn’t the right sub.
I work at a Mother and Baby care home in the UK, and we’re looking to upgrade our CCTV system to better support staff and make daily operations run more smoothly.
Currently, we carry out 1:1 observations (one staff member per family), but we’d like to move towards a 3:1 ratio by using AI to help monitor key events—things like audio cues (crying, shouting, etc.) alongside physical alerts.
Right now we’re using Hikvision iVMS4200, which I know is outdated. We’re open to a full system change if necessary—Avigilon seems like a good option but comes with a high price tag.

- Are there any AI-compatible Hikvision add-ons worth considering?
- Has anyone used sound analytics tools (e.g., Sound Intelligence) with CCTV? I’ve reached out to them but haven’t heard back.
