Hi. We have an hikvision ids 7204hthi controller with 4 cameras and a1Tb harddrive. Camera res. Is 1920*1080/60hz. We have just noticed it's only storing 3 days of events. Is it possible to extend this time or are we maxed out with this harddrive size?

It should be recording for longer than 3 days. There are two things I can think of to check:

1 - In Settings > Storage > Advanced (on the connected monitor), there's an expiry setting. Its should be set to 0. If it's set to 3 days then the video will be overwritten after 3 days regardless of whether there's any remaining room on the disk. That setting is per camera. Here it is on the web UI in Configuration > Storage > Storage Settings > Advanced (it may look different on your model):

2 - Locked files. If someone has been clicking the padlock icon on the during playback. That lock prevents the file chunk from being overwritten so the usable space becomes smaller each time it's used. From the user interface you can go to Search and select 'locked' to see if ether are any such file chunks. From the list that appears you can simply unlock them to recover that disk space.

When you say it's storing '3 days of events' do you mean alarm events or video footage in general? If you're only seeing 3 days of events on the Hik-Connect app, that's a different matter as Hik-Connect events automatically expire (whereas the video on the recorder should still be present unless you've set an expiry as detailed above)
