How to never lose your passwords

I often see threads asking for help in recovering lost login credentials. Here's my suggestion to make sure you never need to ask for that help:

1 - in whatever email platform you use - Yahoo, Gmail, whatever - create a new folder called "Hikvision"

2 - send yourself an email with all of your Hikvision information such as: NVR login credentials; url to access your NVR via the web; default camera password; url for access to your HikConnect account, along with your login credentials; and your HikConnect app login credentials.

3 - when you receive it, place that email in your "Hikvision" email folder and you'll have easy access to it forever.

I also do periodic backups of my NVR and camera configuration files and send those to myself as well.

I know those services can be handy, but they can also be hacked or go out of business. An email never goes away
