Hi all,

Hopefully an easy one for the experienced of you. I fitted an 8 channel hikvision system on my house & all good except 1 camera view at night.

I'm not sure if it's the correct one for the position i've fitted it or if i just need to tweek it.

It's a CAM TVI DS-2CE56DOT-IT3F hybrid 3.6mm outdoor eyball (hope that all makes sense to some of you). I've fitted it in the soffits looking down on my drive & in the day a nice clear pic but when infra red you just see the wall. Is this because of it's positioning.

I've attached some pics so any help or advice would be appreciated
Thanks Jason

The poor night-time performance is going to be due to the IR reflection from the wall.
A surprising amount of reflection from bare bricks!
You'll need to reduce/remove that before you'll be able to see what you are actually interested in.
We're not familiar with the camera model (it's an analogue camera), if it has a zoom lens, then that would be an option e.g. zoom-in to a narrower view.
It may have some IR tweaks that help e.g. Smart Supplement might improve it.

Hi Phil,

Thanks very much for you input i will try your suggestions when i get chance this weekend.

This is the camera i have & being a newbie not sure of its fit for purpose in the position i have it
Hikvision DS-2CE56D0T-IT3F HD-TVI 1080P Turret Camera

If your suggestions cannot be achieved with this camera could you suggest an upgrade for me to look at.

Thanks again for your time

Jason

This model, with its lens adjusted to a narrow view will work well to exclude the wall / IR reflection, and will also deliver better close-up details of your area of interest:
