Help needed: Professional Off-Grid 4G CCTV Setup (No Power/No Line-of-Sight)
Hi everyone,
I’m looking to install a professional security setup for a 1-acre field. I have a house nearby, but there is no clear line-of-sight, so a wireless bridge isn't an option. I need a fully off-grid solution that can handle bad weather (heavy clouds/rain) without dying every two weeks.
The Requirements:
• Power: Needs to run 24/7 through winter. I'm looking at a 12V battery (lithium) housed in a waterproof box.
• Solar: Needs an oversized rigid solar panel (not the tiny 2W ones) mounted to a tree/pole to keep the battery topped up during grey months.
• Connectivity: Since I can't beam Wi-Fi from the house, I need an industrial 4G LTE Router to create a Wi-Fi bubble for the cameras.
• Remote Viewing: I need to be able to view live via a phone app, ideally using a single SIM card for the whole setup.
• Mounting: Everything needs to be mounted to a tree. The solar panel needs to face South and likely needs an extension lead to get out from under the leaf canopy.
Thank you
