Trying to export clip to usb file not supported fault

Can anyone help when I try to export a clip to a usb connected to the DVR I get a message that "The backup file does not support the selected format" I have formatted the usb via the DVR which is a DS 7616-I2 recording in 4K.

The term 'backup file' is not something we have seen before when trying to export footage to a USB, can you share a photo of exactly where you are seeing this message? (Also, which menu are you going to when trying to extract the footage?)

Can you give us more info please?
Are you doing this via a local monitor connected to the NVR?
Or via a PC and browser?
What OS?
Which browser?
How did you format the USB stick?

Hi I'm having this issue too. Trying to export videos directly from DS 7608NI-12/8P with firmware 4.51.007 to an external drive formatted as NTFS

The selected files don't export and the error message appears when you hover the mouse over the export progress icon in the top right.

Just says "the backup file does not support the selected format"

Have you tried formatting the external drive as FAT32 instead of NTFS?

I'm not sure if Hikvision NVRs support NTFS and I'm pretty sure I've seen Hikvision mention FAT32 before.

Yep, tried it with both after I posted that. There's options to format to ntfs and fat32 from within the NVR which is what I used, but the same error gets thrown up with either format

Is there a particular reason you are on V4.51.007 firmware?

If not, maybe try updating the NVR firmware to the latest version (update step-by-step through the versions listed below):
