Hi all,

Sorry - another Firmware post.

So I when I look at the Hikvision Tool to find my camera model(s) - I can see that a number of camera models are listed with a (C) and some without the C.

Now I don't see a 'C' when I log on to my cameras. So does that mean my camera's are not the 'C' version?

...But I also wanted to understand and ask if the FW Encoding Version showing 'G5' or 'G3' has anything to do with this?

Thanks

Hi @virdi

The letter in the brackets refers to a different hardware/software iteration of a specific model.

So the model without the (C) is the older original version of this camera model (which will use the G3 firmware), the model with the (C) is a newer iteration of the same model with improved software (which means it uses the G5 firmware).
