Hi,
I have a DS-2CD2786G2-IZS currently on firmware V5.7.3 build 220216 , if I upgrade it to V5.7.19_241207 and something stops working is possible to downgrade it again?
A while ago I upgraded and it started recording continuously instead of motion events and I was able to downgrade, but this was a long time ago with a much earlier version
thank you for your help
Mike

Going from 5.7.3 to 5.7.19 directly is not an issue. If you want to downgrade afterwards it's not an issue, I've done that plenty of times.

Thanks for the information! Just out of interest is it possible to say when it would be an issue or is it on a case by case basis?
For example would a major update from 5.6.1 to 5.7.1 not be downgradable etc ?

I've not tried it with the cameras. I've never needed to and would rather be up to date. When upgrading, the advice is to step through the base version to avoid issues so perhaps the same goes with downgrading. Although that's the advice, I didn't ever have an issue just updating to the latest when I used to do it that way.

With NVRs it can be a little different. You can downgrade, but it's possible that the NVR will return to a factory default, deactivated state requiring to be set up from scratch. There have been incidences of users getting their NVRs blacklisted on Hik-Connect when downgrading so as a precaution it's best to turn off and remove the NVR from Hik-Connect before downgrade, then re-enable and re-register it afterward.
