    ip cameras system battery backup

I use a mains power battery backup unit. the one i have gives me about 1 hour of backup run time (NVR + 11 POE cameras). You can by units that will last longer, but your be looking at well over £300 for 4 plus hours of power backup. If the power is out for longer i connect up both of my small...

    Time on Playback video

This morning i wanted to view some recordings from one of my Hik 2055 cameras. The video was ok, apart from the time stamp. It kept looping @ 7.46:10am back to 7.46:00am and repeats. But the video itself was not looping, just the time stamp. Watching the live view, the time is working as it...

    Info needed please.

I now have 12 cameras around my home. 11 of these cameras all record 24/7 and any areas outside my property are privacy mask so no images of these areas are recorded. Now i have fitted a new camera to the front of my property. It's a VF camera and is bigger than the rest. This camera is pointed...

    varifocal or fixed lens?

Is there any compromise in a varifocal 2.8-12mm lens as to a fixed lens camera. Is the image still as sharp on a VF camera, and do they stay in focus. Will a VF do as good a job as a 12mm fixed lens camera.

    Camera placement/focal length

I did not think about that, and your right cymruchris. I dont get that problem at only 4m high.

    Camera placement/focal length

My front garden/drive is 12 x 12 meters. I have a 6mp 4mm lens camera 4m high. This camera covers the whole width of 12m's and about 10m's front to back. if it was me i would fit a 4mm 4mp camera in the middle above the front door by the roof line. Also having it looking downwards your not going...

    Lost feeds over HDMI

So after spending some hours trying to sort this out, i ended up running another cable to split the 2 cameras up. This was a pain to do but everything is now working as it was before i changed the NVR to the better model. But if anyone knows why i was getting this small problem with these 2...

    Lost feeds over HDMI

So i have got myself a Hikvision 7616NI-I2/16P NVR to replace my Hiwatch 216M-A/8P. I have 11 cameras on my system. 5 Hikvision 2055 and 6 Hilook D140. 9 of my cameras connect to the NVR via PoE port and all are working as they should. But i have one 2055 and one D140 using the same cable via a...

    Firmware Latest 7616NI-I2/16P NVR Firmware?

11 cameras. All POE bar 2. The 2 cameras connect to the NVR via the LAN port. Had no problem doing it this way with the HiWatch NVR.

    Firmware Latest 7616NI-I2/16P NVR Firmware?

It was a 2016 version, but i found the firmware update for the latest. The unit i have is a 16ch POE 7616NI-I2/16P. All of my POE cameras are working fine. But i have 2 that use the same cable to a TP-Link Spliter. The NVR has found them but it wont let me add them as there is no room.
