FAQ Are New Hikvision Camera Models Compatible with the DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR?

I have a DS-7608-NI-E2/8P/ The original cameras are now suffering from IR failure. Would this NVR support the newer IPC cameras. Eg IPC-T280HA- LUF/ SL or would I need to reduce the MP.

Hi @Victor

The DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR only supports recording up to 6MP, and its last firmware update that added new features dates to pre-2020.

So this older NVR model won't support the resolution and advanced features of the latest cameras.

To get the most out of upgrading your system, we would recommend upgrading the NVR to the DS-7608NI-M2/8P NVR.

If you must keep the older NVR, we would recommend that you use a more basic camera model like the IPC-T240H.
