Hi! I've been upgrading several of my cameras recently without any issues.

However, the latest swop is throwing up an orange triangle stating "The Network is unreachable"

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

Thanks in anticipation!

Okay,

The 2146G2 that is working and the problem 2146G2, was there any difference between these models when you bought them?

Were they both from the same supplier?
Did they both arrive with security seals on the boxes?

Okay,

As the first 2146G2 camera accepted being activated by the NVRs password, I can only think that the 2nd 2146G2 was already activated when you received it which is why it won't accept being activated via Plug & Play.

You will need to get up to where the problem camera is installed and try hard resetting the camera, once that is done and the PoE channel it is connected to is set to 'Plug & Play' the camera should be activated with the NVRs activation password (same as the first camera).

Morning Dan

I've got someone coming tomorrow to climb up the ladder to this camera!

Meanwhile I've tried an experiment with the spare one I have.

I've plugged it in to my spare no.8 port & tried a reset of that one which has failed.

It's currently saying the IP camera does'nt exist but there is an IP address showing on the NVR list of cameras.

I've tried manually adding it but it says no more cameras allowed.

How to I completely clear port 8 in order to start from scratch?

Hi @Gwladok

Try disconnecting the camera from port 8, click 'edit' for channel 8, switch it from 'Plug & Play' to 'Manual', and click 'Save'.

Once that is saved, go back into the edit menu and switch the channel back to 'Plug & Play' which should then default the channel to unused and ready to receive a new/reset camera.

Is the IP address of the camera assigned by the NVR?

With this camera disconnected, after rebooting the NVR, there is an IP address showing & a little cross

Yes, the NVR can assign any available IP address on its subnet range (192.168.254.xxx) to new/reset cameras that are connected to its PoE ports when Plug & Play is enabled.

If you defaulted the channel as I described above and then rebooted the NVR, the IP address of this channel may have changed to an available/unused IP address on the subnet IP range.

That channel/port should now be ready to receive and activate a new/reset camera.

I think i've been had with these cameras!

They were reduced price & no returns excepted.

I think I will order one from you, which one is suitable?

Is the 2146G2-ISU ok, but what would you suggest?

Hi @Gwladok

A DS-2CD2146G2-ISU should be fine to use with the NVR you have, but I would definitely try the hard reset first before ordering another camera.

The discounted price and no returns are potential red flags for your original supplier not being an authorised Hikvision seller, they might have supplied you with a Chinese 'Grey' import model that is not designed for the UK/EU market.

I'm so grateful for your time.

I'm having to walk away from this for a while as its doing my head in.

I can't even get one of my redundant 2142 cameras to work on channel 8 even with a hard reset.

It says the user name or password is incorrect

Morning Dan.

I'm still expecting someone to come today to check out my situation.

Can I ask that you detail exactly what's needed to hard reset this 2146G2-ISU?

Thanks
