DS-2CD2443G2-IW-W cube cameras: no web server ??

Hello,

I am an amateur with a long list of Hikviison IP cameras installed successful throughout the years in my properties, more than 60 (the cameras, not the properties!). I always use cameras alone without NVR's, accessing the cameras via web, iVMS, or Hik-Connect. I went through he years with transitioning from Internet Explorer only, through Chrome with IETab, then Edge with IE mode. Some of my more recent cameras work fine with just Chrome.

I recently got on Amazon Italy 8x DS-2CD2443G2-IW-W cube cameras, which came with fw V5.3.8 build 241123. They came factory sealed and seem genuine.
I hooked up the first to a PoE switch, powered on, SADP saw it right away and activated it noting the IP.
The surprise came when I tried to access the webpage, I get:

Access Error: 404 -- Not Found

Can't locate document: /

This happend before or after the camera is activated in SADP (I factory reset it multiple times). Yet the camera can be reliably pinged. I tried http., htttps, port 80, port 8000, Chrome with IE_Tab, plain Chrome, Edge, Edge in IE Mode: always 404 !
I then fired iVMS which also saw the camera right away, but it seems to only allow limited settings. For instance there is only "Motion Detection", no line crossing, no intrusion detection as per the data sheet. No hik-Connect settings under Network. The only place to activate Hik-Connect seems to be in SADP during initial setup.
I reset it and tried again from scratch. nothing. I then tried another camera from the batch, same thing.

I am past the return window and I am now freaking out: do these camera have a web server at all ?? And if they don't fine, why iVMS shows very few settings?

Out of desperation I also looked for a newer firmware, and I could find none, not in the global website, not in the EU FTP.

What is going on here, am I doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance if anybody has any helpful tip!

Yeaaa they dont have webinterface. They accept only SDK connection via device port 8000. Use Ivms4200

Jesus but how can it be? 1) specs in the datasheet clearly state http port 80 ! And iVMS does not show HikConnect and many other settings, and SADP, although it has the checkmark, says "settings saved, hik connect settings failed", and in fact it does not work! This is utter junk, I am shocked!

Http port 80 is for isapi , not necesarilly webinterface

Very deceitful, "http 80" you would think is web, as any other Hikvision camera I ever came across.
But why iVMS (latest version) does not show many of the usual settings? No checkbox for hikconnect, no space to insert the verification code, and in fact Hikcomnext does not work, it says wrong verification code, sadp.does not save what I enter. In events, there is only motion detection, and it does not show any image. In picture controls, there is no image at all.
Is there perhaps an older version of iVMS to be used?
Firmware: 5.3.8 appears to be very old. Hikvision USA shows the very exact model, and several firmwares to download, from 5.7 to 5.11. absolutely none of those can be installed from hik-connect, "failed".
Same firmwares available in the EU portal, under the G5 cameras (although the camera model ends with G2, the EU portal says that 2xxxG2 cameras are G5 instead). Could these be some chinese version that cannot be updated? Nothing says chinese in the description and the boxes were factory sealed.

This is going to be a fight with the seller, amazon and the credit card company: extremely disappointed by Hik Vision this time! I also tried to contact HikVision Italy, I bet they will say that the serial is not one of theirs and tell me to get lost, as always.
Sorry for the rant, this is so frustrating, €500+ down the hole

The same model without -W at the end have everything. the -W version is value version cheaper 2x

Theres nothing wrong with Hikvision. Its resller you should be after for not giving full disclosure on how camera operate.

We as a distributer also made a bad choice ordering this one up, upon 1st customer feedback we decided to pull them off the market.

I might fork a ISAPI command for you to enable Hik Connect, but it will only work if the LAN cable is connected not via WIFI

Isapi is api interface of hikvision, you could execute settings change via url commands

Wooow. That explains! Thank you for your precious answer.

For isapi there is, but with NDA signed only.
