Hik connect - iOS - Using too much storage

Anyone have a problem with Hik Connect?

Looking at the storage on my iOS device, it suggests hik connect is using 127gb of the available 256gb storage.
When looking in the album, there are 10 videos and 20 pictures, no where near 127gb!

Apart from uninstalling/reinstalling - any idea on how to clean this up - anyone else seen the same problem.

Cant say when it happened, recently upgraded to iOS 26, not sure if that caused it or not.

be interested to hear if others have similar?

Strange mine is only using 550MB. Try saving those pictures and videos to files/photos on iOS and delete them from the apps personal album. Then check to see whether the storage figure for the app goes down to a reasonable level.

yeah certainly strange. Its my wife's phone and got stuff on there she needs to keep, but I have looked on my phone today, and I have 25gb used with one 5 min video and 3 pictures

I have saved all the images from my phone now and removed them from the album in the app, and the phone still shows its using 25gb

oooh, got a result on my phone - in iOS settings, I chose to offload the app and keep its data - so it did its thing, and showed there was still 25gb being used.

I then, in the same screen, told it to reinstall the app, and it's installed, and the space is back again!

will test on the wifes phone later, very odd

I’ve never seen anything like that before but TBH I rarely, if ever, check the storage.

Yeah same. I only noticed it be uase i was trying to put some music on her phone and no space. Looking around saw the hik app using the space and went from there

Fixed on hers now too.

I had this exact same problem, been bothering me for months. Thanks to your solution it has now reduced to an expected level.
