Hikvision NVR. LAN connection or Direct connection to the NVR?

Hi all!! Hope your good!!

I’ve been having a look through the forum and struggling to find what I’m looking for so apologies if this has come up already!!!

Basically I want to know the pros and cons and difference’s between having Hikvision Ip cameras connected to the network or to the Nvr???

Currently have them connected directly to the nvr, I know if I was to add them to the network I would need a Poe switch which can be easily added, just want to know if any benefits if I change?

If the install is up & running with your cameras directly connected to the NVR's POE ports, then I can't think of any advantage to changing to using a POE switch instead.

You should probably enable Virtual Host in your NVR, to allow you to access the cameras individually.
