Hi,
Anyone knows whats up with the hikvision firmware portal? All the files have been removed and replaced with 3 tools, SADP, Batch Config and MVA.

link is here https://www.hikvisioneurope.com/uk/portal/

before you could individually download the firmware for your device type. Hope this is temp and not permanent.

I asked about this this same issue recently see: Is HikVision UK Portal now dead/obsolete?

I don't know if it's something HikVision have done or some mis-configuration but for me it seems that IF I can manage to go to the non-https website HIKVISION UK PORTAL then the portal works but on most PC's/browsers I am redirected to https:// and then the portal does not work properly!

would it be worthwhile clearing the browser cookies related to those sites?

It's just a browser issue. I'm not sure why it's happening TBH. If I follow the link in the OP I get the same results, but if I then just delete the https:// (leaving www.) from the start of the url everything is there.

It would probably help if they got rid of the http:// site and did a clean redirect on their web host / server to the https://

We have chased Hikvision support again about this issue, when we first reported it last week they said it was probably just a server issue and things would be working again within a couple of days.

But clearly, the portal is still not working correctly and hopefully now Hik support will pass this information on to the technical team at HQ to investigate & fix it.

It is standard / best practice now:

Hope it works :)

Despite the link provided being to the non-secure web page, you should automatically be redirected to the https secure version - where you can click the padlock in the browser address bar to check security, certificate, cookies, site settings etc.

BTW SSL site certificates can also be set to automatically renew when necessary nowadays, so that shouldn't be an issue.

We have raised this issue again, and all I can say is that the responses that we have received don't make much sense:
A server crashed
So the portal was moved from https to http
They will let us know when they have an update

Mark the date - wait and see :/

No mirror server available whilst the faulty server was rebuilt?
