Him Connect intermittently offline

Hi all

For several months now I'm struggling to access my cameras via Hik-Connect because it keeps going offline intermittently. Any ideas why this is happening?

...probably caused by these. Noise in the electrical circuit to which they're connected can affect how well they work. It might not be apparent at the time that you connect them and a speed test would only show you the results for that brief testing period. I have used them plenty of times without issue, but I have a couple of installations where connection to Hik-Connect is lost from time to time, or where they lock up completely needing to be reset.

Ideally use a cabled connection between the NVR and the router or network switch. If that's not possible (it's always possible but possibly not practical), use a WiFi bridge or travel router in client mode to connect it to your WiFi. That assumes that the WiFi signal is strong enough in the location that the NVR is installed; if it isn't you can always install that device somewhere in between the NVR and router (where you are able to get a cable between the NVR and bridge)
