The Cameras/NVR box are working ok.

I have lost all remote access to the newly install system above using the ieGeek Cam app for Android. After working well for 5 days the app lost connection to the NVR. I have been unable to reconnect to the device using the QR code or manual approach. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Advice from ieGeek support team - it may be because your Android phone version is too old. It is recommended that you change a mobile phone.

Today, after 10 days, the app (for IOS) has the same problem on my wife's iPad. and cannot reconnect.

Also despite being advertised as having a Windows app, the HiP2P client is not suitable for the IE92 model, so it is not compatible.

I have no further response from the support team.

Is there any other I could use to view footage remotely?

Can anybody advise?

Martin

Hi Martin,
Can you tell when the phone IOS and android apps were last updated? I wonder if the remote access cutoff dates were at the same time.

Is IE92 internet explorer 92?

David

David,
Thanks for the quick response.

Sorry, I am not very "techy", how do I find out about the last app update? and I don't know what the IE92 stands for. I'm not very helpful am i? :(

If i looked in the right place (Google play) the last update for the app was 25th February 2025.

@MJL1956
It could be related to the app update, the last iPhone app update was about 10 months ago.

IE92 probably refers to your camera system.

What phone models are you using and what version of windows is on the PC?

David,

I am using Windows 10 Home version 22H2 all available updates have been applied.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A20e, running Android version 11.

Looking at the download page here there is no mention of the IE92 system for phone and computer apps. Is the IE92 a new system?

Have you looked for compatible alternative apps?

David

David,

I don't know how new this system is. I have tried a few alternatives without success, as most try to connect to the cameras directly. Haven't found an App to connect to the NVR.

The NVR has an IP address of starting 192 , this the same as my network router.

The 4 cameras , however , have an IP address of starting 172 and cannot be detected by other apps Ii've tried.

The cloudedge app seems to work with the NVR, see this YouTube video

I have tried that with the same result, unable to connect to device.
Martin
Martin,
Do you have the same problem when using your home wifi network and away using the mobile data network?

What is the full IP address of your NVR (192.nnn.nnn.nnn)? it is ok to post that info here.

David

How are you currently checking the NVR / cameras?

Who installed the system?

Do you know the admin user id and password?

Your phone was launched around 2019 and Android 15 is the latest OS, can you update your phone?

using the app, when you remotely connect to the NVR / cameras do you see any error messages / codes?

what model iPhone is being used and the iOS it is using?

David

We currently check by connecting a TV directly to the NVR via a HDMI cable, it was installed by a very good guy we have used before.

The admin Userid and password are known to us.

We only connect to the NVR via the app, when we login it is not showing any device and we are unable to add it.

I have the latest update available for the phone so unfortunately the ieGeek Support team may be right about having to change my phone then :(

My wife is using an iPad which is several years old too.

Have you tried to restart the NVR? Do a reboot / restart or shutdown and switch on. When the NVR is working try the apps.

Using your win10 pc open a web browser, in the address bar type http://192.168.68.121 and press enter. If you get a login screen enter your admin id and password.

David

Yes that was the first thing i tried.

When I type that address into a browser i get

This site can’t be reached

192.168.68.121 refused to connect.

Martin

David,

A bit more info received from ieGeek support.

Please check if you and your wife are connected to the NVR or APP at the same time. If so, one party will be disconnected.

Our product can only be connected to one APP account.

I'm just trying to check LAN network connectivity to the NVR. On your PC can you open a command (cmd) prompt terminal window and at the prompt type ping 192.168.68.121

did you try connecting 1 device?

@MJL1956 Morning Martin,
Have you restarted the router? Has it been recently updated or parameters changed?

On your PC what is the problem with the HiP2P app? Do you get any error messages or codes?
