UPDATE - Hikvision has confirmed to us that this firmware is safe to use on all ColorVu cameras from the G5 platform, despite the mention of "4K" for this version in their download portals.
Hikvision has released new firmware for their G5 Series ColorVu IP cameras. The latest firmware, Version 5.72, can be downloaded here.
This version brings back the sought-after ability to enable the camera's built-in white light as a "Linkage Method" to the events. Meaning that this light can be set to turn on automatically when a specified event (e.g. Motion detection, Intrusion Detection and Line Crossing Detection) are triggered.
Please see this guide for instructions on how to use this feature:
There aren't currently any release notes to go with this new version, but they will be attached to this post as soon as they become available.
To check if this firmware is applicable to your ColorVu camera, log into your camera in a browser, and go to:
Applicable cameras will have a "G5" in the third part of the "firmware version property" number at the bottom of this page:
They will also have a (C) at the end of the part number on the white label on the camera or box.
As always, any feedback that you feel is worth sharing below is appreciated.
