I have a Hikvision Cam with SD card and Hikvision NVR, both recording.

When checking recordings with iVMS-4200 through the SD card, I can see that the SD card recordings is missing some clips that the NVR has captured?
As I can see Both cam and NVR have the same VCA detection lines/ zones?

In the images you can see the cam has missed the recording at 3.04??

What is going on here?

Thanks.

Maybe a setting somewhere may fix this??

As I can see the same detection lines/ zones that triggered the 3.04 time above on the NVR does capture clips at other times on the Cams SD card?

How does the Cam + SD card miss recording the same detection trigger that both the NVR and Cam can see??

Can anyone help with this?

Hi @vlct

Can you please share screenshots of recording settings and event settings from both the camera and NVR menus?

Hi Dan, Is this the recording settings you need?

Im not sure exactly which event settings you need also?

Linkage is ticked on the other detection methods but this one was un ticked? could this be a problem?

Thanks @vlct

Can you please confirm the model numbers and current firmware versions of both the camera & NVR?

Cam Model -DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3
Fm/w - V5.7.11 build 220905

NVR - DS-7604NI-K1 / 4P
Fm/w - V4.83.010 build 241118

Thanks @vlct

I think the issue is simply that the way the NVR handles event triggers is different to the camera, so even if the events are configured almost identically on both devices it isn't guaranteed that you will get identical results.

I think, if you are using the SD card recordings as a back up, you are best off setting camera to record continuously to the SD card and then just focus on the event recordings in the NVR settings.

But I didn't configure the NVR's events/detection zones, everything set for the Cams detection zones just automatically appears in the NVR's s settings using the 'VCA Mode' in the NVR's settings.

Yes that would be the best way, but as I view the recordings remotely, I'm sort of stuck with using the SD card for my playback in iVMS as its timeline works better for me with its 'recording event markers' on the timeline.

To make the timeline work the same with the NVR I have to use H264, but because I use the older version of iSPY for my live remote viewing, I have to use H265+ to make it run stable while viewing remotely.

So the tick missing in the linkage method (as in pic above) for that detection type wouldn't have anything to do with this? Because I think that missed recording in pic above may have been in that zone?

Anyway I will keep track/ note of the detection zones that miss the recordings and see if there's a pattern, that its just a certain zone that misses the recordings, or its just random that it could be any zone at any time.
