Hi,
I'm migrating our Hikvision cameras and NVRs onto their own network. Currently, the cameras are connected either via the POE ports on the NVRs, or via the corporate network on the LAN port on the NVR.
The network is wide and rambling, and we have 10 16 port NVRs, all stacked together.
What I have done so far is connect a switch to one of the POE ports on one of the NVRs, and connected the cameras to the switch, its via a fibre link, and its all working fine.
What I want to do next is link a POE port on each NVR to the switch, so I can link any of the cameras to any of the NVRs (not to link one camera to two NVRs or anything) I can then migrate all the IP cameras to the new network, via new POE switches scattered about the campus.
I then plan to link all the LAN ports to a separate switch, have dedicated viewing stations connected to it so we can watch back footage remotely, as we do currently. Latterly, I want to connect it to the internet, so I'm thinking of getting a basic broadband line provisioned, like a domestic sort of thing so I can use the PCs to save info to google drive and use the IVMS app on my phone.
Does anyone forsee any problems? Has anyone linked the NVRs on the POE port side of things like I'm suggesting?
Thanks
