Hi,

i Have a DS-7608ni-k2/8p. I noticed it does not have a RS-485 port for PTZ connections. Is there any way to connect a PTZ camera? Noticed this also on the DS-7608NI-I2/8P.

i have held back on buying the PTZ cam until i know it can work.
Most likely it will be one of these:
PTZ DE-line Network PTZ 2 Megapixel series IR-List1-Hikvision

Really confused as to how i will be able to control the pan, tilt and zoom if those NVR series without a RS-485 port???

Thanks
Wolf

Hi @Novelwolf

With NVR models that don't support the RS-485 connection, you will have to connect the PTZ to the NVR over the local network by adding it a PoE+/Hi-PoE Injector or switch somewhere on the same local network/router range, you can then add the PTZ to the NVR manually using the IP address. It's the same process of adding a camera whether it is fixed or PTZ - [Tutorial Megathread] Getting Started With Your Hikvision System

Once added you can control the PTZ with a mouse when accessing with a direct monitor or a browser, or alternatively you can purchase a joystick/keyboard like these ones - Is it Possible to Connect a Joystick/Keyboard to a Standalone Hikvision PTZ?
