With so many memory cards available on the market it can be confusing and hard to select the right one for you. There are many different types of cards that have been designed for various applications. We’ve done all the hard work to discover the best card for use with CCTV systems so you don’t have to.

When looking for what card best suits your requirement you need to look out for the following:

Capacity - certain cameras will only be able to accept a certain amount of storage, it is always best to check this before selecting a card(older cameras will only accept up to 32GB). Not only this but you also need to factor in the resolution of your camera, the higher the resolution the more storage you are going to need.

Speed - write speed is the most important for security cameras:

Standard def (<720P) - 4MB/s
HD (1080P) - 6MB/s
4K - 10-90MB/s

Endurance - is the card able to support continuous recording for long periods of time.

Durability - is the card reliable, how long does it last, is it water resistant, etc.
