Hi!

I will supply the number of cameras I have to about 10 cameras.

-5 cameras with 8 mega-pixel quality and records in full quality, 25 frames, and a Bitrate: 8192 which is recommended for recording at H256 pressure.
Model is: DS-2CD2T87G2-L

-1 Camera with 8 mega-pixel quality and records in full quality, 20 frames, and a Bitrate: 6144 which is recommended for recording at H256 pressure.
Model is: DS-2CD2683G2-izs

-4 Camera with 4 mega-pixel quality and records in full quality, 25 frames, and a Bitrate: 4096 which is recommended for recording at H256 pressure.
Model is: DS-2CD2347G2-L or DS-2CD2T47G2-L

I currently own DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/S, and I think it will only suffice for 5 cameras, By recording in full quality, 25 FPS, and 8192 H256.
I am currently thinking of upgrading. Are the following models suitable if I find one in the local market?

DS-7716NI-M4/16P
DS-7616NXI-I2/16P/S
DS-7816NXI-I2/16P/S

Or do you suggest other models, and lower price?

And does the use of H265+ compression help in reducing the Bandwidth?

Because I currently have two cameras.
-Camera 1: DS-2CD2T87G2-L
Highest quality.
25 FPS.
Bitrate: 8192
Variable Bit Rate.
H265.
-Camera 2: DS-2CD2683G2-izs
Highest quality.
20 FPS.
Bitrate: 6144
Variable Bit Rate.
H265.

In NVR Bandwidth information page shows that it uses 20MP, and even when switching to H265+ compression, the number remains the same as 20MP.

Hi @Basim

We would recommend the DS-7716NI-M2/16P as it supports 256Mbps Incoming Bandwith which will be more than enough bandwidth for the cameras you are using and yes, increasing compression CODEC to H.265+ will reduce bandwidth & the amount of storage used by the cameras.

On my current DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/S NVR, Can it run 7 Cameras DS-2CD2T87G2-L, at a Bitrate 8192, Highest Quality, and 25 FPS
And 1 Camera DS-2CD2683G2-izs
Highest quality, 20 FPS, Bitrate 6144
Substream For all at 512 Bitrate
without problems?

Hi @Basim

Technically yes, if you have the bitrate for all 8 cameras fixed to the above bitrate then they will use less than the 80Mbps bandwidth limit of the NVR, but we don't usually recommend using fixed bitrate unless your site has very slow internet/limited network bandwidth. With fixed bitrates if the scene gets busy and the data/bitrate the camera is using increases beyond the fixed limit, the image quality of the camera will be reduced to keep the bitrate below the bitrate limit.

For that reason, we recommend variable bitrate because it allows the bitrate to rise & fall based on how complex/detailed the image is without reducing image quality. When using variable bitrate the bandwidth usage can go up to around 15Mbps for an 8MP if the scene is busy and so that is why we recommend an NVR with support for more incoming bandwidth, it will cover the cameras you currently have even if their bitrate usage increases whilst also leaving bandwidth space to add more cameras in the future.
