Hi there teckie folk ( well a darn sight more techie than me )

I have an issue

Had a system that I installed my self about 8 years ago with 12 cameras 10 connected via the POE ports and 2 wirelessly to the NVR and up until 4 weeks ago could access everything remotely via ivms-4200/4500 on my phone when away from home.

Now I can only access when using the ip address i have assigned to the NVR when connected to my home network, when i try it away from home using my home ip address no joy

Another issue is when i put my self assigned IP in and username /password IP-4500 accepts it OK but when i enter the home ip and same password it says Account frozen!

However when i access this from my PC at home using either the hope IP address or the self assigned one it lets me in with the same password.

I have port forwarding on my Router ( nothing changed from when it was working previously )

God - I am losing my mind !!! am i missing somthing simple here ?

Many thanks in advance Roberto

Ivms-4500 is no longer supported and hasn’t been for several years now. I had it working until a few days ago when I replaced my phone and I had to delete it as it crashed on startup (it’s no longer available to download). You best bet is to delete it, install Hik-Connect and go from there. You can still connect directly via IP and port forwarding if you wish but using the Hik-Connect service is more beneficial (push notifications, event clips etc)

Hi JB1970 - Ivms is still about if you know where to look - i have it saved as a .apk for Android - working fine on all of our phones its just the non connecting outside our home Wi-fi.

I have exactly the same issues with Hik-Connect - all working OK in our home intranet - but not when inputting the router ip. HOWEVER ---- when i put our home ip into a web browser remotely it lets me log in ok to the NVR but unable to load the cameras even after installing the plugins. so that shows that the Port forwarding is not the issue on the router config, so has to be somthing to do with ivms -4200 and Hik-connect :-(

Yeah but you can't get iVMS once you've lost it on an iOS device (only inferior android lol). In my case the new phone restored from a backup and it installed but now crashes on load so had to go. I never used it anymore anyway....

With regard to your issue. Accessing the NVR remotely with port forwarding is not the same as accessing it remotely with Hik-Connect (or iVMS). To access the NVR using a web browser you need the port forward for the http port to be working to hit the login page (80 by default or whatever you have changed it to otherwise). For iVMS and Hik-Connect, the server port (8000 by default) and RTSP port (554 by default) need to be forwarded. In both iVMS and Hik-Connect, when adding an NVR directly using IP/Domain you need to specify the port - it's the server port number you enter NOT the http port. I would check that all 3 ports - http, RTSP and server are forwarded correctly to your NVRs internal IP address and are confirmed open using a port scan tool (yougetsignal.com has an open port checker)

"Account Frozen". Not got a clue about that - I've never seen it before.

Hi there - Checked with yougetsignal.com and what you mentioned are 'open' along with 443 i really have no ideas ! Ive even tried to 'unbind' the NVR to start a fresh with SADP and it wont let me !

Even with Hik Connect - it will only let me view when connected locally.

I tried when out in my car today on my phone with no local connection to my home network using a web browser to my actual i.p address and it let me connect using my username and password brings up all the NVR details and options but wont let you view cameras via it as its useless !!!

If you have your NVR connected (bound) to the Hik-Connect service, I'd probably just login to your account in the Hik-Connect phone app and use that rather than messing around with port forwarding which is considered insecure. It's not clear what is wrong that's preventing your connection but something must have changed. The only other thing I can think of is another device on your home network with the same IP address (did you ensure your NVR static IP is outside of the routers DHCP pool?). Other than that I'm out of ideas.

Hi there - thanks for all your help, ended up doing a full master reset of NVR - then used Hik-connect all working as it should tried again with the Ivms but no joy ! Cheers
