I am pleased to feed back that we now have fresh Hikvision UK Tech Support eyes on the issues with V5 firmware.
We have their attention.
If you followed this earlier thread on the V5 firmware, then like me you were probably getting quite fed-up with the issues and seeming lack of progress...
Hikvision seem to have an over-stock situation in their own UK warehouse, and have asked us (and others I assume) to help them clear the excess with some very substantial manufacturer discounts.
This is exceptional.
I have never know it before, and we have worked with them for coming up nine...
It has long been standard practice for devices such as Synology's range of NAS boxes that you could link them to the UPS providing power to them, with a USB cable for instance, so that the NAS would know if/when there is a power failure AND at a pre-configured level of battery discharge the NAS...
This is the first mention I have seen of this.
It is good to see significant product development ongoing.
Not too many clues in the video.
It shows a glimpse of a DeepInMind NVR model.
Stay Tuned!
Hikvision have released new firmware for their M-series NVRs.

Feedback at the below Post informs us that this firmware resolves an issue...
For a year or three(!), the largest capacity HDD that would work in a Hikvision NVR has been 14TB.
(old thread here)
In some new product datasheets we saw mention of 16TB being the largest capacity HDD that they would accept.
We have checked with Hikvision's UK Tech Support and they have...

Just a heads-up - we are going to try running adverts on this forum.
It's not something that we have ever done before (it's been here 15yrs now!), but we're going to test it out and see whether it's worthwhile.
We'll aim to restrict the advert positions to be as 'not annoying' as possible.

And, I suspect it may be a popular topic ...

Just a heads-up that we will have some planned downtime of the webshop this morning.
We are moving the shop to a new server.
It's a small step in a planned progression.
We are advised it'll be down for a couple of hours.
The forum should be unaffected.
I recall that Kaspersky anti-virus / firewall software has cropped-up a couple of times in the past in discussions with forum users, so just thought I'd share this News that I spotted today:

I have no further information, but it is very unusual for a manufacturer's website to be completely down for TWO days.
As a vendor partner of Axis it has become increasingly difficult to get hold of product month-by-month.
For some product lines we are now being given lead-times in excess of...
