Adding one generic camera to my DS-7608NI-SE/P NVR works but not two

I'm trying to add some generic cameras to my DS-7608NI-SE/P. After quite a struggle I managed to add one of them by setting its encoding to H265X however I've now tried to add a second camera and it seems it doesn't like having them both connected. They both work if I view them in full screen, but they won't both display on Live view 7+1. The most recently added camera shows "NO resource". If I disconnect it, the old camera shows up again. Very strange.
I find it odd it's clearly working because I can view them both individually using the NVR. No issues there.
Any tips?

Can you provide more details of the generic cameras you have please? brand, models, resolution/megapixels, etc...
