Hello.

I have this camera:
DS-2CD2120F-IW Camera Model
V5.4.5 build 170123 Installed Firmware

And I want to upgrade the firmware (otherwise the view does not work properly in chrome or other browsers)

Problem is:
When I click on "search" (suchen) then there is no popup window so that I can select the fimware file on my computer. Nothing happens.
An another camera (same model) the popup opens normally.

So I don't know how to upgrade the firmware?

Thanks!

Hi @Roelli

Due to the age of this camera, certain features like updating firmware will not work in the browser.

To update firmware for older models like this, you will need to either use iVMS-4200(V3.12.1.5_E) or the Batch Configuration Tool

I will say though, as far as I am aware, even when running the latest available firmware for this old camera model, the live view will still not work in modern browsers like Chrome or Firefox.

You should be able to get the live view for older cameras like the DS-2CD2120F-IW by using either Edge in IE mode or iVMS-4200.

Hmm.

I don't see any option to upgrade the firmware here?

And in IVMS I can't see any option aswell?

Hi @Roelli

IVMS-4200 can be a bit hit & miss when trying to access the settings of old cameras.

The other screenshot you shared is from SADP and not Batch Configuration.

My colleague has pointed out to me that Batch Config has now been replaced by HiTools Delivery.

If you install HiTools and add the camera, you should be able to load the firmware file.

Run in internet explorer mode and install plugin. Its a common issue that old cams didnt have all the plugins within web.tar.gz within firmware, so it had to relay on outside plugin like this.
