Hi All,
Has anyone got an opinion on how well these perform in a domestic normal setting please?
1 camera at back, 1 at side, 2 at front.
Normal distances about 20 metres.
Or, are there better products for a reasonable price?

This is a love job for a family member, so I don't want to break the bank!

Also, they want to be able to view through an App?
Are these cameras still Hikvision?

Many thanks for any suggestions,
James

Hi @james 415

From our experience with older HiLook models, we have found the image quality and build quality to not be as good as the professional Hikvision range but we've not been hands-on with these newer ColorVu models so can't say if there has been an improvement.

We would warn you that ColorVu cameras are only recommended to cover areas that already have ambient light (e.g. street lights, security lighting, etc...) because if there isn't ambient light you will have to use the built-in white light which can be very bright and offputting for a residential install.

If the scenes you want to cover are very dark, we would recommend using a standard HiLook camera with IR LEDs.

Probably the best thing to do to check if these HiLook models meet your requirements would be to buy one and test it.
