Sorry if this has been answered, but I tried to follow other posts, but I think my situation is slightly different.

I was using IVMS-4500 on my phone and IVMS-4200 on my desktop, and both WiFi (online) and remote viewing (offline were working). I recently had my internet modem replaced but using the same Google WiFi mesh. After the internet change, my WiFi viewing is still working, but my remote viewing (using 5G) is not. With my new phone, I can't use IVRM-4500 and installed HIK Connect and same thing, the WiFi viewing works but the removing viewing does not work.

On my IVMS-4200 (on desktop), I see network parameter 192.168.86.138:8000, but on my computer, I see the following:
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.86.56
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.86.1

I tried updating the IVMS-4200 (desktop) to the IPv4 address above (192.168.86.56), but it messed everything up, and I even lost the WiFI viewing ability. I am not tech-savvy when it comes to this.

Could somebody tell me what I need to update to get the remote viewing? I know the new internet modem causes this, but I don't know where to update the IP address.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi, did you manage to solve your issue as I have come across the same problem.
I’ve got as far as being able to view the Hik-connect App on my mobile when in the house but not away from home on my mobile.
Regards
Tommy.

Hi. I did solve it. Because I had switched to a new internet modem I had to set up the port forwarding. I'm in Canada and have Rogers as my internet provider. Here's the link to their site but perhaps you can just the information and apply it to your settings. Good luck! Actually, I added the steps here in case you can't access it.

Use Port Forwarding with Ignite HomeConnect

Use Ignite HomeConnectTM to set up port forwarding to enable applications like video games, video conferencing and more.
Ignite HomeConnect is available exclusively for Rogers Internet customers with the Ignite WiFi Gateway modem. Not sure if this is your modem? Check under “Internet” on your MyRogers account.

How does port forwarding work?

Since your Ignite WiFi Gateway modem blocks potentially harmful access to your internet, certain applications may require designated ports in order to work properly.

Adding a port forward

  1. Sign in to the Ignite HomeConnect app using your MyRogers username and password.
  2. Select Wifi.
  3. . Select View Wifi equipment, then Advanced Settings.
  4. Select Port Forwarding.
  5. Select Add Port Forward. A drop-down list of household devices will display.
  6. Choose the device for which you want to add a port forward.
    • Note: If your device isn’t listed, it may not be connected to your home WiFi network.
  7. Choose from the list of common applications to use a recommended, preset configuration for your chosen device (i.e. PlayStation), or select Manual Setup to enter a custom configuration.

Editing or deleting a port forward

  1. Select WiFi.
  2. Select View Wifi equipment, then Advanced Settings.
  3. Select Port Forwarding. A list of all existing port forwards will display.
  4. Select Edit next to the port forward you want to edit or delete.
  5. Select Delete this Port Forward to delete or select Apply Edits after making edits.
