Yes, unfortunately it is a feature that is lacking from the HikVision range.

Most Milesight IP cameras have either a built-in microphone or at least the ability to connect a microphone.

i replaced older axis ip cameras with microphone and replaced with hikvision 4k without even giving non microphones a second thought :-(

I notice Hikvision has a stand alone microphone.

My NVR 7616Ni-i2, also has a BNC input & output for audio.
Haven't found any mention of this in the manuals, and I don't see options to enable it in the web interface.

Surprisingly, nobody ever mentions that and we've never explored it.
I would have thought it'd be covered in the manual, but as you say I can't recall ever coming across anything in the user interface that relates to it.

Yes,

If I was designing the logic, I'd add another option under the Event Linkages etc to enable an event to record audio.

I have 45 minutes of intruders a few weeks back; would love to hear what they were saying when they conversed....
