Hey all

I've got the DS-7204HUHI-K1 DVR and I'm accessing it locally with a screen directly connected to it. When the DVR boots up it auto logs in as admin and goes straight to the live view screen. I can then right click and access the menu options.

What I want to know is, is there a way to lock down access (password protect) to the menu (even for the admin user) so no one can tamper with the settings only unless they provide the correct password.

Let me know!

TIA!

Yes in settings/General. There is option to enable login. This is probably turned off, because its not like this by default

Normal operation is that on reboot you’ll get Live View (as defined in the live view permissions) and right clicking to get menu will display the lock pattern/password entry box. Depending on firmware version, the need for a password locally can be disabled (auto login option ticked in the local UI)
