New firmware is available on Global EN and UK&IE EN DS-7616NI-M2/16P product pages (not on USA EN). No release notes.

I also loaded it, Everything working fine. :)
I spoke too soon, Can view everything direct from the NVR but nothing from the browser.

Hik Connect everything working fine.

Have re-installed the older firmware plus formatted my PC but sadly no change.

Got me baffled now. :(

So I've upgraded from V5.04.066 build 250620 to v5.04.070 to 250828 and through both chrome and IE I was struggling to see the live view - IE did open a camera but complained about memory issues. Could be a the web services plug in that needs an update.

I normally use iVMS and this is still fine.

Yet to check for other issues.

I can't comment on the browser setup others are using..... as my browser (Chrome) setup, for the most part, still works. My Chrome browser has its quirks though.

With Firmware Version V5.04.070 build 250828:

whenever I open the browser & immediately go to Live View, it seems to insist on using Main Stream for my 4 cameras. Have to manually force it use Sub Stream. Once on Sub Stream, then:
jump around to other functions, like Playback or System Configuration, then come back to Live View.... cameras are back to Main Stream. I'm not seeing a way to maintain the cameras on Sub Stream.
Could always be something specific to me or my configuration... but ?

With this AND previous v5 levels:

Playback.... in the browser only, Event Markers are off by the DST bias. (using the NVR GUI, Event Markers are ok)
For example.... an event occurs at 06:35:50. Then proceed to playback the recording at 06:35:00 --> 06:36:00. No problem, the event was recorded @ 06:35:50 as expected. But there's no Event Marker at 06:35:50. The Event Marker, IN THE BROWSER, is at 07:35:50.
I first identified this about 18 months ago. Still not fixed in the browser GUI.
The problem does disappear for ~5 months whenever we revert back to Standard Time though :) :)

I'm certain that when I installed the new firmware last Wednesday (5 days ago) the live view in the Edge browser I have been using still worked... have been gone for a few days, seen this thread, checked, and I now have the same problem... no live view in Edge browser... I notice that I also cannot view each camera's live view (direct on camera web page) in the browser either (again this was working after I initially updated the NVR firmware) ...

I did notice that my Edge browser installed an update while I gone... I wonder if that had something to do with this?

Could be a the web services plug in that needs an update.

So, I updated (or just re-installed?) "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components"... now live view is working again for NVR web GUI and the individual camera web GUIs :)

I don't think it was the M-series firmware update that caused this... I think it was the Edge update that caused this? But I can't seem to find a page that shows MS Edge update history?

Hi John, thanks for taking the time to solve this problem but I have done exactly as you said both "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components" but sadly hasn't solved mine.

As a fix I have found "Firefox" plays just fine but would love to get Edge working with it.

I don't think it had any significance, but I did delete "Cached images and files" in Edge before I tried reloading "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components".

UPDATE: Sadly did as you suggested John but no difference at all.

Will have to keep trying although like you I'm sure it's a Windows issue with an update that has caused this. :(

I am having the same issues, everything was working fine until the Edge update yesterday!

Tried a factory reset and reinstall web plug in / local services plug in but still not working in Live view.

If I change the stream to main I get the following error message:

"Insufficient memory. Please lower the resolution or frame rate, or reduce the number of playback channels".

I have a DS-7608NI-M2/8P firmware V5.03.000 build 250210 and also just lost live view/playback/event view on Edge. Internet explorer mode in Edge still works. I think it's an MS Edge browser update that caused it. Not sure how Hik will fix this if Microsoft's update is correct/expected. It will likely have resulted in most M series NVR's not able to function correctly on Edge.

That pretty much confirms for us that it was the MS Edge browser update that caused this issue... I was able to get Edge working again by reloading "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components", but that has not worked for @busterboy ...

I loaded this (latest version 2025/08/25):

HiTools

I think that is when the NVR GUI live view started working, but the individual camera GUI live views (though virtual host) were still not working until I used "Download plugin " on one of the cameras here:
