I spoke too soon, Can view everything direct from the NVR but nothing from the browser.
So I've upgraded from V5.04.066 build 250620 to v5.04.070 to 250828 and through both chrome and IE I was struggling to see the live view
Could be a the web services plug in that needs an update.

Hi John, thanks for taking the time to solve this problem but I have done exactly as you said both "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components" but sadly hasn't solved mine. So, I updated (or just re-installed?) "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components"... now live view is working again for NVR web GUI and the individual camera web GUIs

I don't think it was the M-series firmware update that caused this... I think it was the Edge update that caused this? But I can't seem to find a page that shows MS Edge update history?

I’ll try that when i get home John. Thanks.I don't think it had any significance, but I did delete "Cached images and files" in Edge before I tried reloading "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components".
UPDATE: Sadly did as you suggested John but no difference at all.I don't think it had any significance, but I did delete "Cached images and files" in Edge before I tried reloading "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components".

Same here.I am having the same issues, everything was working fine until the Edge update yesterday!
Tried a factory reset and reinstall web plug in / local services plug in but still not working in Live view.

I have a DS-7608NI-M2/8P firmware V5.03.000 build 250210 and also just lost live view/playback/event view on Edge.
@johnfitzyThat pretty much confirms for us that it was the MS Edge browser update that caused this issue... I was able to get Edge working again by reloading "Local Service Control" and "Web Plugin Components", but that has not worked for @busterboy ...
I loaded this (latest version 2025/08/25):

I think that is when the NVR GUI live view started working, but the individual camera GUI live views (though virtual host) were still not working until I used "Download plugin " on one of the cameras here:

I'm certain that when I installed the new firmware last Wednesday (5 days ago) the live view in the Edge browser I have been using still worked... have been gone for a few days, seen this thread, checked, and I now have the same problem... no live view in Edge browser... I notice that I also cannot view each camera's live view (direct on camera web page) in the browser either (again this was working after I initially updated the NVR firmware) ...
I did notice that my Edge browser installed an update while I gone... I wonder if that had something to do with this?
I tried your suggestion but I am now getting the following error message! That pretty much confirms for us that it was the MS Edge browser update that caused this issue...
