Max size of Hard drive that will work with a DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A NVR

I was thinking of replacing my hard drive on my Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A NVR but I have been told the max size it will cope with is only a 4TB and that a 6TB wont work with a Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A . Can someone confirm this .

We have never yet encountered a problem where the capacity of a hard disk is too big for a Hikvision NVR.
e.g. we have 10TB HDDs running in their most basic 7604 NVRs.

We are frequently asked this question because Hikvision's literature states some arbitrary maximum HDD capacity e.g. 4TB.
However, that 'maximum' stated on for instance their datasheets is simply the biggest drive that you could purchase at the time ...

Yes I fully agree looking at the manual it states 4TB but like you say it works fine on 6TB its just that I was thinking of upgrading my HD and was told the max was 4TB but in the end I installed a 6TB Purple and like you say it works fine .

Thanks again Phil the new replacement 2742 that I got from you last works fine as for the old one looks like the intermittent problem is on the camera .
