Hi, Have you installed "Milesight Smart Tools" on your PC?
http://www.milesight.com/support/download.asp#software_jump

There are a few videos at our YouTube channel to help you get started and set up:

How To Connect a Milesight Camera to your Network & Assign it an IP Address Using Smart Tools

How To Update the Firmware of a Milesight Camera/NVR using Smart Tools or a Browser

How To Add a Milesight Camera/NVR to the M-Sight Pro app using P2P Connection

What devices do you have please e.g. cameras and NVR?

I'm wondering if its firmware? I've realised this is a little out of my league !!

OK, as you are a customer of ours I've cross-referenced your Forum user name, email address, purchase order, and can see that you have a Milesight UI-5016-PB 4K 16 Channel PoE Network Video Recorder.

Have you connected the LAN connection of the NVR to your router?

If so, when you run Milesight's Smart Tools it should show-up in the search results.

Can you upload a screenshot of what you are seeing please?

Your NVR is probably not set to an IP address within your domain range.
Do you know your router's IP address?

Yes, it's just an address on your Local Area Network

Select the row in the table for your NVR by ticking the box at the left of the row.
The fields below the table are then populated.
Enter your router's address in the field marked Gateway.
Enter an available IP address from your domain in the IP address field.
Then click the 'Modify' button.
